♥ Khaleeji Terminology ♥

The Number/Letter Guide:  When typing Arabic words, it's become a trend to use numbers and symbols in place of the Arabic letter, for example 5aleeji is "KHaleeji" with the Arabic letter خ being replaced with a 5.

ا = 1
ء = 2
ع = 3
د = 4
خ = 5
ط = 6
ح = 7
ق = 8
ص = 9

** other variants include:

'3 = غ
'4 = ذ
'5 = خ
'6 = ظ
'7 = خ
'9 = ض

When speaking Arabic to a another Arab-speaker or an Emarati/Khaleeji WOMAN, the ending "ik" is replaced with "ich/ij/ج".  Also, "jeem/ج" is replaced with "ya/ي" and "k/ك" is replaced with "ch/تس".  For example, "Shlonik" becomes "Shlonich", "dijaj" becomes "diyaiy" and "kayf" becomes "chayf".  If you wanna sound like a Local (or Local Wannabe), just use this and everyone will think you are Emaratiyya.  In Canada, I talked like this and ALMOST got away with being a true UAE'er until they realized I can't speak 3arabi as my first language hehehehe :-P
